I will never forget,
the first day that we met,
when your little brown eyes looked at me.
At that moment I knew,
I'd been searching for you,
and forever my dog you will be.

I have sweet memories,
of your time shared with me,
playing games and performing cute tricks.
We have fun in the sun,
taking walks or a run,
and you thank me with kisses of licks.

When you fetch your green ball,
in the pool you may fall,
surely not something that you enjoy.
Then you follow your nose,
anywhere a smell goes,
and I always say, "You're a good boy".

I don't want to let go,
but I'm sure that you know,
I will not let you feel any pain.
Though it's breaking my heart,
at this time we must part,
and my life never will be the same.

You're my very best friend,
but I'll see you again,
at the Rainbow Bridge where we will meet.
I can't wait to embrace,
kiss your soft little face,
and again sleep with you at my feet.

Go chase rabbits and play,
soon there will be a day,
when you pause to look up and will see.
I have come back to you,
filled with love always true,
and Forever My Dog You Will Be.
