Maci (My Teddy Bear)
When I came to know her, my good days were few,
My heart then encumbered by strife,
God sent from above, an Angel of love,
To add to my blessings of life;
Today I'm reminded of when I was young,
And loneliness sometimes was there,
I'd hug really tight, with all a kid's might,
To my own little red Teddy Bear;
As I grew older, my attitude colder,
An unrighteous man came apart,
But then upon finding a new Teddy Bear,
There was soon love and joy in my heart;
A broken man saved by the love of his pet,
And her naturally unselfish way,
Of spreading here love to whomever she met,
So that they might have happier days;
She made things so easy -- the problems of life,
Went away when you looked at her face,
A perfect example of living proof,
Of the beauty that's found in God's grace;
Just like the other, she couldn't talk,
But her sweet little face made me feel,
Loved and delighted, when she'd kiss me back,
'cause this Teddy Bear was for real;
But then a day came, when God up above,
Saw that her purpose was done,
Her giving of joy, and his perfect love,
In much the same way as his son;
He called her back home after she lived her life,
Restoring the strength I had lacked,
And he also knew heaven couldn't be heaven,
Unless heaven could have her back;
Though she's gone away, I'm smiling today,
And often give thanks in a prayer,
For in everything good, I see a resemblance,
To the face of my sweet teddy bear.
Thank you Maci. Daddy & Mom Love You.
