Precious Abby
by Rochelle Palmer.........................................
My angel entered my life 16 years ago. She was not even weighing in at 2 pounds. Abused, mistreated, neglected; we took her into our hearts and nursed her back to health. She was the best companion you could ever hope for. Through her years, she was always suffering with some type of illness, we were told because of how she was cared for in the beginning. We didn't care about the money or time spent because she was our baby. She always wanted to play and was the first one to greet you when you got home with a wet sloppy kiss. I Loved her with all my heart. Towards the end it broke my heart to see her suffer through all the pain and discomfort she was in. People always tell you that you will know when the time comes to say your final "I LOVE YOU". That day came to us Jan. 28, 2008. Being a parent of a much loved pet, trust me when I say, You Do Know... I was there in the beginning, and I was there till the end. I held Abby in my arms close to my heart and told her I loved her as she took her final breath, and closed her little sparkling eyes. My heart hurt as I said good bye. I sat there holding her for over 2 hours, not able to let her go. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think of her. I know she is in heaven playing like a puppy again, not suffering, and is with her big sister Smokie.
