Brandy's Love
by Sandra Martin.........................................
Brandy jumped into my husband's work truck one day in July 1996. It was summer, hot, and this beautiful dog who was emaciated jumped in and out of my husband's truck. He called me at work and said "Guess what?" "I just had this white dog jump into my truck! She looks very tired and hungry and I gave her water. I can count her bones! Oh, she jumped out again. Wait, she jumped back in! I am bringing her home!" This after finding another pup the year before. "Sure, why not?!" Needless to say, it ended up that we thought we might give her away, but when someone finally said that they wanted her it was too late. I was in LOVE! She was an English Springer Setter. Her colors were white with rust. She was mostly white though, rust around her ears. She was extremely soft and loveable. She was definitely a MaMa's Dog! She loved her swimming pool in the summer! So on her last day on this earth, she went swimming three times. She was laying around alot, which wasn't exactly unusual for her; however, she was lying in places alone instead of in the room where I was. After swimming, she wanted up on the couch by me and I brought her up. She layed her head on my shoulder very cute like. She had never done that before. I asked her if she was okay and of course got the usual response. I went to do dishes and cut my finger, so when I went for a bandaid I noticed that she was jerking. At first I thought that she was having a nightmare, but then I noticed that it was a seizure. I called my husband and we took her to the vet where for her sake they put her out of her misery which was best. She will be remembered by all because she was such a sweet, caring, and loving pet. Your sisters Belle and Lady Ying miss you Brandy. I do too! Love ya, Mom
