Shesa Sugar Dandy
by Sarah Kelly
This is the story of Shesa Sugar Dandy. Born on January 19, 1993. This is still incredibly painful to write.
You were my beautiful mare for almost 17 years.
We got you for Maddy, but I knew the first day you were home, that you were mine. You were a very "green" horse and way above what I could ride, but I knew you were mine and we would learn together.
You spent most of your life in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine. Where we lived. When we moved to Greensboro, NC you and Gracie came with us. I would never leave you and you will always be my horse.
You had many friends and boyfriends. Hunter and Galaxy were your geldings. And they crushed on you pretty hard...much to the disgust of your mare friends...Maggie, Raisin and of course, your very best friend and constant companion, Gracie.
She is still here, walking over your grave and with you still.
I could go on and on with stories and facts about you...how your favorite treat of all was Vanilla Wafers but losing you to this awful storm on Wednesday, June 14th, 2017 has broken my soul. It's too painful to even think about. I know your story and your life and all of the memories and emotions will be kept in my heart forever.
We tried so hard to save you when that tree came down. I knew I had to let you go and say goodbye. But we were with you until your last breath. You knew. And you always will...how much we loved you and always will.
Rest In Peace my beautiful mare.
