Remember when Mommy found you? You had been outside in the tropical storm and eating your dinner from what you could find in a garbage can. Mommy scooped you up, helped clean you, fed you, and held you while you purred. That's when we bonded and we became the bestest of friends. You were Mommy's sweet boy, kissing and purring and talking as soon as I walked into the room. You almost got so fat I could barely pick you up!!
Then you started limping and we took you to the vet. I knew what it was - that bad C word. I even told Dr. Rommel that I knew what it was. Two weeks later you had almost stopped eating totally and you had that bump on your paw and I knew it was time to let you cross the Rainbow Bridge. I held you in the vet's office and kissed you good-bye one last time, and you started purring, just like you always did when Mommy held her sweet boy. Within a few minutes you were gone.
Mommy loves you, Sammie, and you will never know how much you mean to me. Sadie is being a good girl, or at least she's trying to be. I think she misses you, especially when she's at Daddy's house and you're not there to massage her back. Smokey is doing okay and I hope you two get a long better in Heaven then at home. I think he gets lonely sometimes now that Mommy has moved out. Daddy is doing well, he misses you when he's downstairs, which is all the time. Someday Mommy will see you again, Sweet Boy, and hold you like I used to, but, I expect you to kiss Mommy on the face with your scratchy tongue.
Until then, Mommy loves you and I'm glad that God brought you into my life so your final years were happy ones.
Love,
Mommy
