A beautiful golden, so loving and strong
She'd come to your aid whenever something was wrong
From puppy to adult, she grew and grew
Always being faithful and staying true
She loved to run and she loved to play
She'd lick us and love us day after day
She'd always been there when work or school was done
Happy and gay, ready to have fun
As she got older, her gold fur lost its shine
But her love didn't falter
She was still just as kind
Although she could not run, she could still bring us care
Her affection and loyalty could not be compared
Now that we finally must let her go
Tears cover our faces, even though we do know
She'll float up above
Her health will refine
Her fur will once again gain back its shine
And although from the world, she will be far apart
She'll still have a place in all of our hearts
And then when our family passes away
We'll see her heaven again someday
And together we'll stay, together we'll be
Joined by the bond of love
