My HotRod cat
by Shannon .........................................
Well on March 29,2010 this beautiful long haired black cat with a little white on his chest was born! As soon as I saw him I knew that he belonged to me, I couldnt wait for the 6 weeks to go by so that I could bring him home. Well that day finally arrived and I went to the store first so that I could get him all the things that he would need, and of course I had to get him some extra things to play with. Well he was settling in good at the house and with me being his new mommy. Well he got his name by running so fast through the house when he would hit the tile floor in the kitchen he'd lose his traction and he would go sliding sideways. It was so funny to watch him run and play. He started growing up but he always knew who his mom was and he knew that I truely loved him with all of me. I lived to close to a main highway so HotRod never went out side! I couldnt have handled the thought of him getting hit by a car and then me coming home and finding him dead.. So there for he was an indoor cat. Then one day I moved out to the country, and when I got HotRod over to the new place I wouldn't let him go out side for the longest time. But then I decided to let him explore the great out doors. Boy oh boy that was all so new to him He would creep down low to the ground like some thing was after him. He loved it out side it was a whole new world to him. But now when it would get dark he'd come in for the night, which I wanted him in for the night. Then there was one night I left the front door cracked open for him because he wouldnt come to me so I went up to a friends house and I went to sleep. Then at about 7:50 am on a Sunday morning my best friend is beating on the door telling me that he needs help. I look into Steves arms and he was holding my HotRod and when I saw my cat I just knew that it wasn;t going to be good. So it being Sunday we had to take him to the emergency vet. We got there as fast as we could, and when we walked in there they took HotRod back to the back and what seemed like forever for anyone to come see us this sweet vet assistant came and got me and Steve and took us to a room and said that the doc would be in in a few. Well Dr. Hughes finally came in and told us that he thought that HotRod was going to be fine but he wanted to keep him there for him to be on qxygen then when me or Steve would call back there was very little change in my cat. Then the doc called and said that HotRod was going to pull thru this, and then the doc called again and said that he didn't think that my HotRod was not going to make it. But then we got another call from the doc and he said as long as me and Steve could give hime 24 hour care he was going to be alright. I was so very happy. Then at about 6:30 am on Monday morning the doc called and it was the worst news that I have heard in a long long time My Hot Rod didnt make it! See he was attacked on my best friends property by his cousins two dogs!!! And one of those dogs was a pitbull, the other was a golden retriver. Well as you can imagine the pibull tore my cat up. HotRod was still a bay, he was only a year and a half old. Now he's has been taken away from me way tooo soon. But I know that the vets office and doc Hughes did all that they could possibly do for him, I want to say thank you so very much to Western Carolina Regional Animal Hospital, and thank you so much doc hughes for all the extra care that you did for my HotRod,and I'd like to say thank you to all your staff there. HotRod will be misssed so very much and by me loosing my cat has really shown me that I truely did love my cat with everything I have in me! He will not be for gotten and he will NEVER be replaiced by another cat. I love you HotRod a.k.a cooter!
