"Sunlight streams through a window pane
Unto a spot on the floor...
Then I remember,
It's where you used to lie,
But now you are no more.
Our feet walk down a hall of carpet,
And muted echoes sound...
Then I remember,
It's where your paws would joyously abound.
A voice is heard along the road,
And up beyond the hill,
Then I remember it can't be yours...
Your golden voice is still.
But I'll take that vacant spot on the floor
And empty muted hall
And lay them with the absent voice
And unused dish along the wall.
I'll wrap these treasured memorials
In a blanket of my love
And keep them for my best friend
Until we meet above."

-Brodie, we will always love you and miss you.
Thank you for being such a great friend to all of us and especially for loving and protecting Madison. You were the most gentle, loving and sweetest dog. We raised you from puppyhood. You were always friendly, playful and sincere. You always comforted us when we were upset. If we were crying, you would lick our tears. You taught Maddie how to love and especially how to love dogs. She still knows you and kisses your picture. The second we brought Maddie home from the hospital, we will never forget how you came right up to her car seat and kissed her. From that moment on, you were her best friend always wanting to protect her.
There will never be another like you. You were sincere, gentle, sweet and had the kindest heart. We will miss hearing you kick your bowl when you need more water. We will miss you jumping up on the bed before we make it. We will miss you giving your paws or resting your head on our lap for a piece of popcorn. We will miss you getting so excited when we put our sneakers on because you know it is time to go for a walk. We will miss you barking at the doorbell. We will miss your friendly greeting when we or anyone else walks in the door. We will miss you opening your holiday gifts.
You are our first baby and will never be forgotten. We love and miss you so much, little monkey, buddy, stinky face, munchkin, pumpkin...Brodie.
