I sit in a dark room
Lit up by the beautiful sunset
The flowers have finally bloomed
As I gave you a gentle pet
We watch the sun fade
And the stars come out
But you still wanted to play
And you got your way with a simple puppy dog pout
I wipe a tear from my eye
As you chased away my fears
And the sun arrived high in the sky
As you catch my falling tears
Without you I am nothing
Just a girl without many friends
But you were very trusting
And play time never came to an end
I felt much better
With you by my side
And even if the rain made us wetter
You were still one of a kind
No matter the weather
And my mood
We were always together
And you were never rude
I loved your wagging tail
And your personality towards me
We could go put up our sails
And head off for sea
I loved you like a teddy-bear
And you loved me back
You'd sit on a comfy chair
And just relax
We could go for hike
And our supplies would be already be packed
You'd ride with me on the back of my bike
And then we'd rest for a little snack
But in the end
I just sit
With some friends
As our candles are lit
We send a prayer up Heaven
Just for you
And I'll remember the days
Where it was just us two
