A girl sat at the kitchen table reading the poem she had just wrote.By her feet sat Cypress,her best frien in the whole world.The girl smiled down at Cypress and he seemed to smile back.
"Shianne,"The girl's aunt Josie called from the living room."Yeah?"Shianne walked into the living room."Could you let the dogs outside?"Josie asked.Shianne nodded her head and called for the dogs."Chico,Gracie,time to go outside!"Shianne called.Cypress was already at the door waiting patiently.
Shianne opened the door and the dogs ran outside."Thank you."Josie said walking into the kitchen.Shianne smiled and started drawing some pictures.

It was nighttime now and everyone was fast asleep except for Cypress and Shianne.The dog layed next to the girl as they watched tv.Shianne patted Cypress on the head and the dog let out a sigh and closed his eyes.
Shianne looked at Cypress and turned the tv off."Good night,Cypress."She said and walked off to her room.

That was a year ago.Shianne sat on the couch and sighed.The house seemed empty without Cypress.As Chico and Gracie chased each other through the home,Shianne thought about what'd she would do for her 13th birthday party.
She looked around."This year's party is going to be a drag."Shianne sighed again."Why say that?"Josie asked,putting the laundry basket down.Shianne looked to the floor and back to her aunt.
"It won't be fun without Cypress."She answered and her aunt looked at her sadly."Shianne,remember that poem you wrote two years ago when Cypress was with us?"Josie asked."Yes."Shianne replied looking at the wall where the poem hang.
"Cypress isn't gone,honey.His spirit remains with us and he will be with us for the rest of our lives."Josie said and looked at Gracie who was staring at her.
Shianne cheered up a bit and grabbed some paper off the kitchen table.Josie watched as the young girl thought for awhile and wrote some stuff down."Invitations to the party?"Josie questioned trying to see what was on the paper."Yep,and aunt Josie could you print out some pictures of Cypress?"Shianne asked,writing some more."Sure."Josie answered with a smile on her face.
Gracie and Chico barked excitedly knowing the party was soon.Josie and Shianne laughed and there on the wall the poem stayed the way it had for those two years.
