Our VooDoo
by Sue Ferguson.........................................
OUR VOODOO

With fur as black as midnight
And bib as white as snow
We named our puppy VooDoo
After New Orleans Queen Leveau

Our Voo - she too did magic
She had the conjuring art
She cast her spell with soft brown eyes,
And poof! She stole your heart

She also was a devil
As a VooDoo teenage pup
She ate our giant waterbed
And ripped our carpet up

Milky, Shanti and sister Voo
Chased bunnies in the park
Slid down the slide at Thornydale
Playing hard, til it got dark

VooDoo had a rocking chair
She claimed it as her own
She loved to watch the world go by
From her queenly throne

Our girl, she loved so many things
The beach, the park, and toys
Christmas stockings, big soft beds
And our other doggie boys

She rescued PJ, our Mexi-Mutt
When he ran away one night
She tracked him and took care of him
And soothed him thru his fright

We got to have one last beach trip
Cardy, PJ and our Voo
And she got to bask in sand and sun
And romp in cold waves too

One soft summer night, our girl
Knew it was time to fly
With PJ sitting by her side
We all petted her good bye

Listen Voo -- we know that you
Know how much you're loved
So run with all your fur-faced friends
On heaven's beaches up above.

Til we meet again,
Hugs to our big beautiful girl,

Love,
Mom & Dad
