Our Bailey
by Susan .........................................
You changed our lives forever
when you came in through our door,
you made our lives complete,
our family, now of four

You came to us so playful,
not quite a full year old,
you lived your life so fearlessly,
always confident and bold.

We made our games to include you,
and, oh, the laughs we had,
but when you were the monkey,
you used to get so mad.

Of course we'd help you out sometimes,
and let you get the ball,
and then we'd throw it for you,
and you'd chase it down the hall.

A sock was always a favorite,
but never one that was new,
it had to be an old sock of dad's,
not any one would do.

We would tug and you'd tug back,
that sock you'd always rip,
we'd have to brave your chompers,
to get it from your grip

And when we brought that hamster home,
from that big pet place,
you used to get so mad at mom,
you wouldn't look her in the face.

A trip up to the mountains,
was always your delight,
you used to run and play and romp,
and join our snowball fight.

You got to spend part of your days,
with your favorite brother Buck,
you never did forget him,
we wished him the best of luck.

You loved to ride with mom each day,
to deliver Taren to school,
you loved to fetch your tennis ball,
and swim inside the pool.

You always slept with Taren,
every night with him in bed
you face up close and furry,
right there beside his head.

And all the kids that visited
our house on Halloween night,
were surely here to see you,
I know you must be right.

You greeted every one who came,
with your nose up in their crotch,
for those not suspecting,
it was always fun to watch.

Of course you're favorite place to be
was anywhere with dad,
If you couldn't be right near him
you always looked so sad.

As the years have come and gone,
your gait maybe not so fast
but always happy and playful,
our love would always last.

You made each day a treasure,
one we could never, ever miss,
you made our hearts so happy.
our lives were full of bliss.

Right now it's just these memories,
not every one's been told,
thirteen years of pure love and joy
we'll tell them till we're old.

We loved you lots, you loved us more,
surely there could never be,
a family so lucky to share their lives,
with the sweetest, the best, Bailey.

We love you and miss you Bailey, and we
will think of you and smile every single day.
mom, dad, and Taren
