Cody Rat
by Suzanne Schultz.........................................
Cody was ugly. I am sorry but it is true he was ugly. A rat with no hair will never win the most beatiful award. But what he lacked in beauty he made up in love. I got him when he was just 4 weeks old. My son wanted to name him Satan but I put a stop to that. I had watched the movie Bless the Child the day I got him and liked the little girls name on it. So he became Cody Rat. I went to a thrift store and bought him some toys. His favorite toy was a toy school bus. He would climb in and out of it all day long. I even found him a toy school house to climb in and out of. Like most kids he only liked school if I put some treat in it. I went to the pet store and got him a two story cage. He loved it. But because he was a hairless rat he was always getting cut on the wire of the cage. He always had his ears bleeding. I think he must have done it to himself so I would put some cream on them he loved it. There was never a food he would not eat. That encludes sheets, cardboard, plastic and a few of his toys. Cody would never bite me or anyone else. He loved everyone even if they did not care that much about him. I know it is hard to believe but there are a few people who are not to keen on rats. Late at night he always had a one rat party. A few nights I think the party might have got out of hand and I think the cops were called. But come the next night he would throw caution to the wind and party on. I got so use to these parties that when one night there was no party I knew my beloved Cody was going to die soon. A day or so later Cody took his party to Rainbow Bridge. The house was to quite but I feared the Bridge had just became to loud. So Cody Rat now lives at the Bridge with CoCo, Minnie Cat, Misty, Peppy, Ginger, and Lou Shan. Party on guys, party on. Mama loves you.
