The Murder Of Rock
by Suzanne Schultz.........................................
His name was Rock. He was a large mix breed dog. He spent his days barking at the passing cars, and sunning himself in his yard. He loved his owner. But there was a dark side to Rocks life. He at times would go without food for a day or two. He had bad eye infections. He never saw the inside of a vets office. He was often kicked or used as a punching bag. The words I love you were never said. Then the other day the kicks and punches went to for. For several days he tried to get better. But the damage was to great. Finally he closed his eyes in death. I wish I could say Rocks death was not in vain but we all know that thousands of dogs are killed at the hands of someone they love and trust. Rock was just a dog that will not be remembered with love. There will be no tears shed at his grave. He will not have a human to wait for at the bridge. Noone cared.
That is why I ask you to remember a dog you never knew. Say a prayer for Rock. Who knows maybe God will choose you to escort Roch into Heaven.
MAY ROCK REST IN PEACE
