My beloved Rocket Boy

Rocket
7/4/1991-11/15/2010
This little miniature schnauzer was the best little boy I could ever have asked for. Rocket was a great big brother to Gretchen. After my divorce in 1995, he became the man of the house and would spend hours looking out the front bedroom window and bark at anyone who would pass by....only to know that all he would ever do is lick their face.

I remember one time when a big dog wanted to eat me for lunch, Rocket flew his floppy ears up with his fur on the back of his neck raised to defend his mommy....

Gretchen is very anxious in the car and even though Rocket wanted to put his head out the window and take in the fresh air, he would sit next to Gretchen so she would be less anxious while the car was moving.

Rocket kept losing weight and even though I would ask the vet about it and he thought nothing was wrong....Rocket continued to be happy, playful, and an energetic little/big terrier.

On Sept. 25 he had lost 1/3 of his body weight, and started having diarrhea. I took him to the vet again and they drew blood work and all came back normal. His diarrhea persisted and I took him again to the vet and they did an x-ray and ultra sound where they found a very large mass in his gallbladder, liver, that extended to his bile area.

On 11/15 I noticed Rocket quit eating and feared when I came home from work he would be gone...he was still alive when I got home from work. I held him and at 500 pm on 11/15 my baby boy took his last breath while I held him.....

Good bye my baby boy. I know you are in doggie heaven and are out of pain, and happy, free, and a healthy weight again while you are playing with your older brother Chipper...waiting on mommy and sister, Gretchie to come and be by your side.....

I love you Rocket,
Sister Gretchen and mommy
