Summer of 2006
by Terri Shippey.........................................
It was a hot and humid summer in Florida. After two years of back to back bad hurricane seasons. We were just hoping for a quiet calm season.Sory started surfing the internet for a kitten. She saw Macy and knew she was the one. Sory contacted the adoption agency and the next day she picked her up. What a little bit of nothing was she
Beautiful markings. Hair between her toes. Barely any whiskers. Se was indeed perfect. We immediately took her shopping for collars and
. Blankets and pillows, oh but was she spoiled. Slept in between us. She was so small she would suck pillows or hands really anything she could. I left my house for a few months and during those months Sory and Macy became best friends. Upon my return I nearly had to compete with Macy. Macy loved the grandson Izaiah and she was there for the birth of Izabella Izariya and Baby Dylan. By the time Emily came Macy was and old hand at babies. She would sleep in the baby bed until we booted her out. No matter what Macy was there. We adopted Tiffany a year later. Macy was not happy. She couldn't stand Tiffany. Gradually they grew to tolerate each other. In the summer of 2010 Macy and Tiffany began their exercise regiment they would walk the block behindd us and our two dogs. We looked crazy two prop two dogs on leashes and two cats behind us. Whenever Sory would call meow meow Macy would come, never Tiffy. Also in the summer of 2010 two little baby kittens arrived. We befriended them. Then one day a big Siamese stray showed up we really didn't befriend him, but he wasn't bothering anyone. The kittens got bigger and the Siamese got closer. Fall came, The holidays came. Still kittens and that Siamese. The dreadful day showed up 1-11-11. Had we known the outcome of that day. Well anyway that dreadful Siamese started fighting with Tiffany. MACY jumped in as if defending her nemesis. Now Macy is gone and Tiffany has taken on so many of her traits. As for the babies they still hang around but any other cat is scared off our property it isn't that we hate all strays we are scared. No one should witness that. Our lives truly changed that day. We buried our baby. We move on slowly. we cry we laugh we find things to fill that void. We cam across this site. Everything happens for a reason and Macy Lee was needed on the bridge. I need to be here and hopefully, eventually help others overcome their grief
Play it sweet in heavn Macythats where you need to be.
