In memory of our loving Greta - March 2, 2009
by Wanda Bonham.........................................
We laid our sweet baby girl to rest today.
It feels as if the heartache will never go away.
We must remember that you gave us almost eight years;
Even though right now it will be through our tears.
You loved Beggin' Strips and playing outside;
In you, we took so much family pride.
Taking you to Lowe's was always a treat;
You took your stance in the shopping cart seat.
Habitat for Humanity has a secret we shared;
Not always pleasant, but your way of showing you cared.
Your wagging tail, those big brown eyes and a slobbery kiss
Are only a few of the things that we are going to miss.
Your nose was cold but love unconditional and pure;
That thought will surely help us endure.
We don't want to think of you as being gone,
But remember all the good times that you have shown.
You are now our little angel with wings;
We hope you chase rabbits and your heart again sings.
May you rest in peace our precious little Greta girl;
You will definitely be missed in this cruel world.
Don't worry and don't be afraid;
Papa Dutch will be there to meet you and show you the way.
It brings us peace knowing that you are not alone;
We do pray that you are going to like your new home.
Rolling in the grass was a favorite of yours;
We hope that in heaven there are meadows galore.
There will be a time that we are together again,
So listen for the doorbell and let us come in.
