I remember when I went to the pet store to find a bird... The lady told me a lovie wouldn't be a good bird because I would be leaving it alone on weekends that it might become wild( because I would be gone two days) I believed her.. She said a greencheek would be better. ( of course the lovies were 40.00 and the greencheeks were 250.00) wonder if she was trying to con me? lololol Anyway she handed me this little green bird that was playing all by himself in a cage of tiels.. He was so cute.. sniff, sniff..
The second he was put on my finger I (for the first time in my life) had my first low blood sugar reaction.. As I held him I got all hot all over and my lip started sweating... I felt like I was going to pass out.. I ask her to take him that I didn't feel well.. I went outside and put a few hard candies on my mouth. after about 10 minuets I felt better and went back in and held him a little while longer and fell completely in love with him..Because I was going to be going on a week long art show I decided to pick him up the next week.
I put a down payment on him and went home to tell Don we were going to be getting a little bird.
I couldn't wait to get home to get him. First thing Monday morning I was at the bird store to pick him up.. I brought him home and introduced him to Don.. Who acted like it's a bird what kind of pet is this going to be? Well the minuet he stepped up for him OD was in love and it didn't take long for Dons heart to melt.. It wasn't long and Don was fixing him his fruit each morning. Don and I would go on road trips for the day and the first one we took after we got OD, I had to pry him out of Dons hands and tell him it was time to go.. I drove that day and when we got to the light on the corner I looked at him and he looked at me and said " you know it wouldn't hurt if he went with us" LOLOL I turned around and we picked him up. The next day he called me out to the garage to show me OD's new car seat. it fit between our seat in the car.. From that day on OD went almost everywhere with us.. Most of the ride was cupped in his daddies hands..
Each day Don would come in from the garage and pop corn fix a soda and pick up OD and they would go in, watch TV and eat pop corn...
I will miss him but know he is happy to be in his daddies hands.
By little guy, mama loves you.
