Mr. Bixbee
by Wendy .........................................
Mr. Bixbee was 14 years old when he came to us. The people that had him, knew that he was getting along in years, but I'm not sure how much they loved him. Their idea of peace for him was to take him to the woods and shoot him so he wouldn't have to suffer. That's what we were told. His "Grandma", my daughters friend, asked us if we would take him in. "OF COURSE!!!" So, into our lives he came. And, to us he brought a wonderful meow that sounded like "YEAH". Soft kisses and head nudges. He had been declawed, which I personally think is cruel. But, that's my opinion. Mr. Bixbee was with us for only 5 months. He chose my daughter to be his mama. And he felt the safest in her room. But he loved us all. And we certainly loved him. He loved to have visitors in his room. He didn't like to leave that room. We have 3 other cats who seemed to want to know him, but he just wasn't comforatble with that. We found out that the people who had him before wouldn't let him roam around their house. I guess he got used to being in 1 room. My Bunnie Bear, my cat for 14 years, went to the rainbow bridge in 2002 or 3. I prayed for God to ask Bunnie to take Mr. Bixbee under his fur wings and show him around. And, when I get to go home, Bunnie, Mr. Bixbee, and all my other fur babies who are there will have a grand parade into Heaven. I love you Mr. Bixbee. We all miss you so much. Thank you for the love and friendship you brought us. We are so glad you came into our lives. Wait for me with Bunnie. I'll be there as soon as my chores are done.
