My fat bottom dancing queen
by Yanna Conkle.........................................
Yesterday, Oct 21 2013 I had to make the hardest, and a very heartbreaking decision in putting my beloved Sheltie Jenny to sleep. I rescued her from the shelter in my community. Her previous owner was horrible to her. When I walked into the shelter that day I had no real intentions of adopting. As my daughter and I walked past her cage, she was huddle in the corner, head down and clearly frightened. The shelter manager asked if we wanted to meet her, and of course I did. She walked next to me, and hid behind me if anyone walked towards me. Then she went to my daughter, and she allowed her to pick her up. And that was it, Jenny fell in love with my daughter and vice versa.

Jenny was a gentle, and loving dog. She was always happy and bouncy. And that is how I gave her the nick names of "dancing queen" and "fat bottom girl". When she would run her butt would sway and bounce. And when I would dance to a song on the radio, she was right there with me, toe nails tipping away.

She is and will be missed forever. I know I did the right thing for her, but my heart hurts from missing her. I gave her a great life, a new birth, so to me I was there when she "came into this world", and I was lucky to hold her as she left it.

Play happily, dance freely my beautiful Jenny. I love and will miss you forever!
