remembering Kitch
by carole kanter.........................................
She was a dog nobody wanted. She was abandoned at a park where she was teased relentlessly by neighborhood kids. A kind person rescued her, brought her home, and thought he could make a nice home for her. But... this made 3 dogs for him, and that was too many for him. He advertised for a new home for her. I answered the ad, and Kitch became our dog.

We didn't know the breed she was until the week before she was put down. She was too smart for a beagle! We had a treasure! She was a Brittiany Spaniel. So smart!!!

We never mated her, and she never had any puppies. We didn't know that if a female dog doesn't have puppies and isn't fixed, they can run into troubles. These troubles cannot be fixed, and the pet has to be destroyed. This is heart breaking!!!!

About a week after we lost her, the nice people who work at the veterinary hospital sent us the poem "Rainbow Bridge." At first, I couldn't read it. But, soon I did, and when I did, I was so very
soothed by it. This too is a treasure!!!! Too bad we do not know the author!!!!!!!!!!!
