How a kitten can save a girls christmas
by crystal atherton.........................................
I was 16 when my cat tj (brown and white female tabby) passed away in mid november due to septic poisoning. it was december 15th, 2006, I was lonely, I just lost my best friend. But then my mom came through the door, and told me to open the box after she set it on the freezer. I opened it, and i saw a duplicate of tj, only orange and white. Her name came to mind. "Socks." She was the most beautiful cat i'd ever seen. Of course, I was tempted to change her mind, due to her hopping around instead of walking and running, because her paws were bigger then her head..lol.. she gave me a happy christmas.. she would have celebrated a second year with me, but she got medically sick on me, and my only choice because i couldn't take care of her, was pretend she was a stray, so the humane society would pick her up. I'll never forget her,i told her i wouldn't let anything happen to her, but wasn't able to keep that promise.. i lost her only one month ago. She was my best friend.but she was readopted, so i have no clue how she is, or where she is. It's hard giving up something you love, so, in spite of what i feel, i thought i would share this poem.

Tears run wild:

Tears run wild,

cheeks are red,

yesterday, I lost my friend.

You're gone for now,

but let's be clear,

somehow, some way,

I'll get you back here.

I never meant to lose you,

I did what I thought was right,

Sometimes the pain is horrible,

and I just wanna disappear.

tears run wild,

cheeks are red,

yesterday, I lost my friend.

Days are gone,

months pass by,

no sign of you,

my dear best friend.

I hold your memory,

in my thoughts,

wishing i could hold you,

and give you a hug.

tears run wild,

cheeks are red,

yesterday, I lost my friend.

I face the facts,

that your not coming home,

I tried my best socks,

but it wasn't good enough.

I love you baby, now have fun,

try to be good now,

and I'll try to get over the pain,

of losing you.

tears run wild,

cheeks are red,

today, I lost my friend.
