Sadly, I know too many people to whom this applies.
I tried to put up the tree today and couldn't get the strength mentally to do it.I began to clear away the area for the tree but it took time.
After the little tree was put up and the star lights hung..
I stopped in my tracks and sat down and just went down memory lane...
All I can say is it wasn't pretty. I cried for over an hour with memories of what this time used to be for me and how it was filled with such love and anticipation -wrapping gifts and planning surprises and now it brings back memories of the reality of emptiness and sadness.
No hurry for photos.. Everyone get around the tree!
No Santa for the little one's. No baby giggles. No cooking together in the kitchen. No blessings of thanks.
So many are gone. So many are now grown up. So many have moved and have their own lives and own children and their own Christmas memories.
So I would like to remind you that there are people for whatever reason who are not looking forward to Christmas. Some people are not surrounded by large wonderful families.
Some of us have problems during the holidays ..Some of us are sick.. some of us have family members or loved one's going through a health problem . Some of us are overcome with great sadness when we remember the loved ones who are not with us any longer.
For many it is their first Christmas without a particular loved one and many others who have lost loved ones at Christmas.
And, many people have no one to spend these times with and are besieged by loneliness and depression. For some ..what loved one's they do have are far away.
We all need caring, loving thoughts right now.
Let's give a moment of support to all those who have family problems, health struggles, job issues, worries of any kind and just need to know that someone cares.
Say a prayer.
Do it for all of us, for someone, Prayers for everyone...For no one is immune.
And.. let there be Peace on Earth.
Amen
