In the weeks after Ramsey passed, my husband and I could not take the emptiness and lonliness in our house. That little boy used to fill up our home with so much of his life and love that the loss was just huge. So, we decided to go LOOK at some dachshund puppies.
All the way to the kennel, we debated back and forth, should we go and look or not, would Ramsey be upset ? we went and ended up falling in love.... with not one but two puppies !
They both had some characteristics of our boy and certainly the special sweetness that he had. We miss our little boy terribly and nothing can take his place but these two little guys are full of love and we have a lot of love to give them. We always tell them about their "big brother" and they seem to understand. His presence will never leave our house which is a comfort until we see him again one day.
Love never dies... it just carries with you wherever you go ! and if you have love to give to another animal, give it !
