Romeo
by james sisk.........................................
Our beloved Romeo was born an Okie, He was a birthday present for my wife, though through out the years He loved our daughter more than anything. He ate and slept with her for most of his life. Ro Ro as we called him was very sweet and very protective, he also had a nack for picking up on strangers outside our home on many occasions, on one of those he was barking late at night, the next morning I found my car to have been stolen, should have listened to him. And about the same time we acquired another friend, Her name is Kacey and she is an Aussi. Anyway she and ro grew up together and everyday it seemed Ro and K were running up and down our fence barking at the next door neighbors dogs.

When we moved from Ok. to tn/ga area on our way we had to cross over MontEagle Mountain, it was so funny, Ro started howling because of his ears popping going up the mountain. We almost lost him at 8 yrs old though, he wondered down to a neighbors yard in Ga. and the man shot him with a 22 rifle it went through and through his left front shoulder. He was bleeding allot and seemed to have stopped breathing, i wrapped him in a towel to prepare to bury him and he moved, so off to the vet hospital we went. My son was holding him with tears pouring down his face and rocking him. he survived against all odds. After our Daughter married she tried to take him home with her, but it didn't work out, he treed her husband on top of the kitchen table!!! Romeo had several litters with Molly, our other Yorkie. One was BabyGirl, she got ran over by a car and died in my wife's arms and BabyBoy who went to our Daughter but was killed by another dog. He had several others but they went to good homes. Over the yrs since his accident he gradually went blind and would make his way around the house by memory, and finally his old gun shot wound got injured and a tumor formed and could not walk and was in terrible pain, the vet said she could do nothing for him. Our other four leg family members know he is gone, you can tell. And it is so empty her since he has left, our home just doesn't feel right. Ro, we love you and miss you dearly old man, you will never be forgotten, we will see you soon, have fun with your new friends and our older family members. We can't wait to hold you again. All our Love is yours!!!
