I just recently had to put my beloved dog Rufus(Dalmation) to sleep,he was almost 13. Rufus had stones in his bladder and a surgery was given to him to clear the stones, he looked like a brand new energetic dog, and then 4 months later suffered a stroke which paralyzed his right side, leaving him dragging his hind legs and causing us to have to help him up at times,recently he became weaker and lost his appetite and finally was shutting down to the point I could'nt see him in any more pain. Monday the 23rd of april was when I had to put my best friend to sleep. There were times I 2nd guessed my decision but in the end I came to the conclusion It was for the best. I recieved this poem on wed the 25th, from my vets office and after reading it, I just prayed, if I could only see a sign that would let me know he forgives me and he would be alright in heaven. On Saturday afternoon the 28th, we were grilling out after a soccer game and it started to rain while the sun was still shining and suddenly in front of our house out came the most beatiful Rainbow I have ever seen, the "Rufus Rainbow" could be seen across the entire sky. I know now that Rufus is alright and will be waiting for me, one day when I come across the green fields of heaven to met him at the Rainbow Bridge.
