You came into our life as a playmate for our boisterous fun loving doberboy Eddie & so began 11 wonderful years with you. The day we bought you home you walked through the door like you owned the place & made yourself right at home. You soon became my dog even though you loved everybody else but you were always mummy's girl. You'd spend hours by my side in the kitchen hoping for any food that might come your way, how greedy you were you used to suck your food up from the bowl like a vacuum cleaner. You loved lots of snuggly cuddles & fusses & used to paw at me for a quick fuss whilst sitting beside me all lopsided. Best of all though were walkies especially early morning to watch the sun rise & to chase all those pesky old bunnies & on hot days you'd launch yourself into the river to lay down & cool off. Good times were had playing with Eddie though you used to take it a bit far sometimes & nip the skin on his face but he would just bundle you over & nip your bum before running off like a mad thing. But good times don't last forever & 2 years ago our much loved & missed doberboy Eddie went to the Bridge & you Missy were 12 years old & beginning to slow up as Arthritis was taking hold by then. We bought Homer into your life after losing Eddie & immediately you accepted him but he knew you were the boss. Even though you were getting so old you still kept your playful streak right to the end, you'd bark & play bow at Homer even though you couldn't get up to do it. I had been preparing myself to lose you since Eddie died but you soldiered on & at the age of 13 you went to the vet for a dental & so began the worst night of our lives as your mouth bled continually all night & we never left your side. By last christmas you were really slow but you enjoyed all the snow that we had & one last christmas dinner & you loved to help open everyones presents. How i will miss you doing that. Spring came round but it was evident you were nearing the end,we had to lift you up from your bed to get you moving & support you under the tummy with a scarf when you stumbled but you still managed to rush to the kitchen when it was feeding time. You were such a greedy girl right to the very end. Two days ago at the ripe old age of 14 1/2 though you'd finally had enough. You went into the garden for a sniff around & seemed a bit wobbly on your legs. We took you inside & you never got up again. So we took you to the vets & you died in mummy's arms, together till the very end. I hope that you are free from pain now & causing havoc with Eddie chasing bunnies & squirrels through the trees, reunited again, partners in crime.
