Charlie

Charlie was to say the least...Unique. He was what is known as a a shakey kitty. When he was born his balance was almost nonexistant, so he bumped into everything, couldnt run a straight line and walked around like he had a pole up his butt with his tail straight in the air to him balance himself. He basically looked like he got into a botle ofJD and forgot to get out...lol.

To make up for his imperfection he was very vocal and so very loving..people didnt know whether to laugh or cry when they met him , but you couldnt help but love him..and if you didnt like cats when you met him, he made damn sure you did when you left...lol. He was a big ole orange tabby that looked alot like Morris the cat, but with a huge head like charlie brown, hence the name charlie. He was my first cat that was my own. Correction, he owned me and boy did he. In spite of his diability he made it to 14 1/2 yrs old which is pretty amazing considering when he was a baby the vet told me id be lucky if he made it past a year...people tell me he lived that long cause he was loved and loved back and was so very spoiled.

The cutest thing i remember about Charlie was when i got my other cat Misty she came with 4 kittens attached to her. They were all flea infested so into the bath tub they went to get defleaed. Well Misty went into hiding behind my water bed and refused to come out...even when her kittens were screaming for her to nurse them. I was working for an OB/GYN and had a few cans of canned baby milk stuff in my car that was for a freind, so out to the car i went and when i came back there was Charlie in the box with the kittens...it was so adorable...they were trying to nurse on him ...he had no clue what was going on , but he tried to comfort them...he was such a sweet cat.

Charlie and misty moved all over with me..from Buffalo nwe york, to poughkeepsie new york..and then finally out to las vegas. Mist passed away 1 year after getting to vegas...kidney failure. If you live in vegas...give your pets bottled water, never give them tap water...its to hard on them. After Misty i got Gypsy to keep Charlie company and they became good friends...then i got 2 more cats..and then there were kittens born...and i somehow ended up with 7 cats. All the while Charlie was the head honcho of the household. They all seemed to know that he was boss and not to mess with him. Charlie of course thought he was normal and everyone else was nuts. He slept in the bed right next to me..and he always had to be touching me. On a Saturday nite i went to bed...Charlie was asleep on the kitchen floor and i didnt want to wake him. That morning i got up ..and he had passed away in his sleep. I'm glad for that that he didnt suffer or was in pain. But gods i miss him...that was 5/1/05. I had him cremated and his ashes are on the dresser next to Misty's where he will always be ...and hes playing in Rainbow bridge with her and all my other animals that have gone before. I know that some day we will be reunited and thats what keeps me going.

Charlie was my Amana cara...my soul friend.

I LOVE YOU CHARLIE
