He stands tall and sniffs the air,
his eyes glitter with new alertness,
he feels fresh air and energy in his weak body,
his legs tremble as he discovers he can run and jump once more,

He looks back,"where is my mummy?"
his bark is strong again as he shouts for her,
He looks again into the distance "where are you?"
his heart is strong but breaking at the same time

He knows he cant go back so bounds forward at great speed,
his legs moving faster than ever before,
he takes greats strides towards a beautiful bridge,
his heart racing as the gates to the bridge open,

He is my life, my world, my shining star,
his memory forever burns in my heart,
He will be at the bridge to meet me when its time,
our lives complete once more,
