CoCo's Letter from the Bridge
by suzanne schultz.........................................
Hi Mom
Just wanted to take some time and tell you how much I love it here. It felt strange when I first got here. I had been blind and deaf for so long I had forgot what it was like to see and hear. Remember how bad my teeth were? Well they do not hurt anymore. My breath is nice and fresh now. I remember how you said my breath would gag a goat, not anymore. I have made some great friends here. I wish you could meet Clyde. He is a mule here who welcomes the animals who have no human family on earth. I know it is hard to believe that some animals live their whole lives never knowing a humans love. Clyde pairs these animals with what he calls lost souls. Just the other day I was standing at the bridge with Clyde, when a small brown dog crossed over. She was scared at first and just sat and looked at us. Clyde said she had lived her short life in the woods. She had never known the love of a human. She came and sat by me for awhile. A short time later a bright light began to shine. Out of the light came a old man. Like the little dog he looked ragged and unwanted. Clyde said he was one of the lost souls. Homeless with no family he had been left to die in the cold. His name was Josehp. The little brown dog got up and went to sit at his feet. Joseph bent down and petted the little dog and in the blink of an eye they were changed. Joseph was young again. He held his head high with pride. The little dog began to run around him. Her tail wagging so we were sure it would fall off. She to held her head high. The bells began to ring as they always do when a family crosses into heaven. Joseph looked at the little dog and said "come on Mary lets go home" They crossed over together. We all know that some day it will be our turn to cross over but untill that time comes we celebrate each time an animal goes home with family. I look forward to the time I can be with you again. But for now I am happy. Got to go some puppies have just got here and they are haveing fun with Clyde's tail. Love to all CoCo.
