Four Little Angels
by suzanne schultz.........................................
CoCo could not believe what was happening. Just a few moments ago he was playing chase with Henry. Even Tabby, Sheba and Chelsea had joined the fun. Then Henry stopped and looked at Sheba. Sheba looked at CoCo. CoCo had been at the bridge for three years and could always tell when new pets were crossing the bridge. But this time it was different they could all feel it. Then a light began to glow over the bridge. They could all see four little ones on the bridge. But they were not animals they were small children. One of them just a baby, only four months old. Henry started to go up the bridge to get a better look but CoCo stopped him. "Wait here" CoCo told Henry "The angels will be here to get them". But no Angels came, instead the oldest child only three years old, picked up the baby and walked over to the group. "My name is Ryane this is my baby brother Danny and my little sisters Hannah, and Lendsey. Our Daddy threw us off the Dauphin Island Bridge in Alabama. Our Mommy is really sad and we want to let her know we are together and ok. We do not want her to cry" Tabby looked at the children "close your eyes" she told the children. "Think of your Mommy, Ryane let her feel your love and she will know you are all ok" Ryane closed his eyes and started to smile. "She knows" Chelsea said "She sends her love to each of you."
Duke the great dane walked up to the children. "It is time for you to cross into Heaven" he said. "I will be your guide." Henry who could stand it no longer ran up to the children and gave each one of them a kiss. Then with Duke leading the way the children walked into the light.
CoCo, Tabby, Sheba, Henry, and Chelsea watched them go. Each one wanting to go with them.
Henry looked at CoCo "Will they be Ok?" he asked. "They are better than ok. They are Four Little Angel now." "What about their Mommy" Sheba asked. "Will she be ok". "yes" Tabby said. "It will take some time but she will be ok. She will never stop loveing them but time will help her heal"
Then the music started to play "Jesus Loves The Little Children" . All the animals started to dance and laugh. Heaven had just became an even more wonderful place (if that is possible) because of three year old Ryane, two year old Hannah, one year old Lindsey and four month old Danny.

These children were thrown off the Dauphin Island bridge by their father on Jan 7 2008. We live about 30 minutes from that bridge. I have carried my own childern over that very bridge when they were young. It always meant a good time was waiting fo us on the other side. Swimmimg. Not any more.

Duke the great Dane that I used in the story was a great dane we had to pick up at the animal shelter where I worked in the early 1980's. He had been left at the Mississippi welcome center. He had the mange so bad he had no hair at sll. His skin had began to rot. For Duke help came to late. I feel like he should have the honor to go with these four little angels into Heaven.

CoCO was my 17 year old grey poodle he died in Feb 2005. Sheba was my Moms dog she died in 2007. Tabby the cat and Chelsea the Dalmation were my sisters pets. Tabby died in 2005 Chelsea died in 2007. Henry belonged to my sisters friends grandmother he died in 2007.

God Bless the beast and the children.
